Using points for two staterooms on DCL

I am currently trying to determine which stateroom category would be the best for our family of five. We are looking at a 7 night Eastern Caribbean cruise in 2014. Our party will consist of myself, DH, DD11, DD8, and DD6.

Someone on the cruise board suggested connecting staterooms. If we decide that we would like to have two rooms as opposed to one, how does that work when using points? Would we still pay the highest point value for two of us with the lower point values for the kids? Or, will it actually take more points to secure two rooms.

I hope this question makes sense! I'm very new to all of this cruise stuff! Thanks.

when you call member services you can compare the points for a room that holds 5 or two staterooms that connect. I am prey sure it will still take less points to get connecting cabins and you will have the benefit of two bathrooms.
I am going on the Dream in June and we have 3 cabins. I didn't go through member services in the end. I rented my points and used the cash to reserve the rooms on Disney Cruise line. We have been on several Disney Cruises and my family love them.Good luck I think you will have tons of fun.:lovestruc

Whether you book DCL on cash or by using DVC points, the first two people in a stateroom are charged as adults, regardless of their age.

You must have one person over 18 registered in each room. So booking two staterooms, your family of 5 will pay for 4 adults and one child. That is the case whether on cash or points.

Hope this helps.

It definitely does help. This is exactly what I wanted to know. Thank you very much!
