We are staying at the DGC Hotel next month on our developer points. We've stayed DVC in May so I'm well aware how mousekeeping works (only every so days, etc). With using our points in a 'hotel' will we have daily mousekeeping?

We are going to GC next month, too! As a guest in the hotel you will receive daily Mousekeeping. :cheer2: One of the features that I really like about GC is that you also get nightly turn-down service as well. My children like the chocolates that they leave.:) Have fun!

we were down in May and July 4th weekend on points and got daily mousekeeping service. We had a pool view in May and a DTD view in July. We could see the fireworks from the balcony. We are going back at Xmas too.

My DH & I used our developer points at DGC in March. We were treated like royalty. It was our first "Welcome Home" experience and it was truly GRAND. We had a room with balcony overlooking California Adventure...views of ToT, Grizzly Peak, and Condor Flats. It was awesome watching DCA "wake up" every morning and "go to sleep" each night. Another magical memory, thanks to the man who still makes dreams...Walt Disney!

All I can say is "enjoy"!!!

We're using points next month to stay in an Artisan Suite at GF. I'm really curious about what the room will have in it....is there a washer and dryer? Are the amenities similar to those in a studio?

We're staying at the GCH next month, too. Do we have to pay for valet parking there? I know the points covers the daily fee but I'm not sure about valet parking.

I am not sure. :confused3 We stayed at DGC a few years ago on my sister's points before we became DVC members in our own right. :cool1: If memory serves me, it seems like we did have to pay extra for valet parking. But again, we weren't members yet. I think my sister's family self-parked their car to avoid that charge. I think (and I may be wrong) that valet would not be included until the VGC opens later in September. Someone else may have better wisdom on this question.

Valet is not included, but the $17 Resort fee is waived which includes internet access. My understanding is that Valet won't be free for VGC members either... :(

We stayed at GC in February on points. The resort fee is waived, daily housekeeping is included and valet parking is not included. But, don't forget you can "self park" right the street, which is what we did. Once we got to the resort we didn't leave until we checked out!

Just got back from the GC on points.

It's a boondoggle. I will be sad to see this option go away once VGC opens up and points reservations are no longer allowed at GC for the hotel room.s

As others have mentioned, you are treated like every other hotel guest including mousekeeping and turndown, with the exception that you don't have to pay the daily resort fee. We also got a few goodies (some baloons and a nice "welcome" packet) at check in. Like others have said, self parking is free, but valet is $17 per day, just as it is for cash hotel guests.

Also, when you're staying in the hotel on points, you get the hotel check in time -- 3:00 p.m., instead of the typical 4:00 p.m. DVC check in time.

Thanks for the info! We'll be there in about 2 weeks and I'm really looking forward to it. Once we're there, I don't plan to have to drive anywhere for 4 days so we'll probably just do the self park option.

Enjoy it SO much! We did almost three weeks in California five years ago on points (two through II, and four nights at the GC). The GC was our favorite part of the trip! So sad that we can't do it anymore after the villas open up.
