So we are looking for an addon contract - we currently have a Feb UY. It doesn't seem like there are too many out there so we want to open up our options. We are considering HHI because it is difficult to book in the summer and we want to do every other year WDW and then HHI. We might also need to use some of our HHI points for some of our WDW stays. Our home is AKV -- say we want to book BLT for a week at 7 months can we book the first few days with HHI points and then the rest w/ AKV and then link the 2 reservations or will they always be considered two different reservations because they are not the same UY. Just a little confused. In a way it might benefit us if 2 different reservations if we wanted to do the dining plan for only part of our trip.

Anyone that has this type of situation i would appreciate some input on handling reservations with 2 different UY and resorts.

If there is a link to some sort of good explanation on how to handle booking with different UY and resorts that would be great!

Anytime that you do something different than the norm you increase your risk of problems. Yes other people have done what you suggest without issue and it can be done but others have had problems.

You can transfer your points from on account but then you have to have MS book your reservation because you won't see the points in your account.

You can book 2 separate reservations and asked not to be moved but sometimes you have to go to the front desk between reservations and sometimes you don't.

We have two different use years and sometimes use both to reserve one trip. We have not used the transfer route including because it takes away the option of booking online rather than by phone. We book some nights online with one use year and the other nights online with the other use year and then send an email to MS to link them, which it does, and have never had an issue of having to change rooms. Moreover, in last few years, there has not even been an issue of having to do some mini check out and in on the switch-over date because when we arrive the two reservations are treated as one at the resort, and have been told at the resorts that the need to do that mini check in and check out has been done away with in the computer system.

The only place we have ever had an issue is with housekeeping, with which we seem to always have issues, most of which have nothing to do with using two separate use years for the reservation. A couple times when we had the combined reservation for eight nights or more, they did not do the full cleaning on day four because they were apparently treating the reservations as separate. These days, after I arrive, I call housekeeping to tell them our entire trip time and when full cleaning should occur, which I usually call and do twice because I have found that asking housekeeping to do something is often something that is not done unless you ask at least twice.

They will be separate unless you transfer and if you do, you currently could not book online. I'd weigh this carefully.
