Hello all…In the spirit of budget cutting, we might have the person who took our eng pictures fly down for our wedding (She’s a friend of a friend). Even if I pay for 2 nights hotel, airfare, spending money, the Disney Fee, and her photographer fee, it would still be MUCH cheaper than Disney. My only concern now is the Disney provided escort…I know about the fee’s for them, but what specifically do we need an escort for? Do we need the escort anytime we are in a Disney facility for pictures such as the Rehearsal at the Wedding Pavilion? Or if we wanted to take pictures at the Grand Floridian?

Also, what do the Disney/outside photographers usually wear for their attire, just so my photographer wouldn’t feel out of place….?

And Lastly, how did you guys handle the food for the outside photographer? When we were using Disney we were going to provide them a deli plate. Is this still an option when using an outside vendor?

We had a friend to our video, and were not charged a fee. We counted him and served his meal as if he were a wedding guest, he just had a video camera and taped events all through the evening.

I really think that you need to run this past your EM because technically you are only inviting this person to be your wedding photographer and you wouldn't have invited them otherwise. Also you are wanting to do posed photographs etc so again I think technically Disney will count this person as an outside photographer - unless of course you can prove that this friend of a friend is not a pro-photographer, I'm not sure from your post whether they are or aren't. Your Em may ask if you are paying for the services of this photographer. Personally I say just be honest and upfront with your EM and take advice from them of what the best budget course of action should be.

If you included this person in your guest count and as a proper guest then I think you would be able to get away with the fee and the waiver form that Disney usually get outside vendors to you use.

Otherwise yeah you can still serve a deli plate to outside photographers - we did.
