we are staying at the asmu in aug/sept and was wondering if we can use other disney pools? we have children ages 5&7 which pools would you visit (if this is allowed)?
thanks

You're not supposed to use the other resorts pools - and they crack down at some of them - mostly the really cool ones. In fact, they fenced off the Y&BC pool because SO many people were going there who were not staying at the resort.

At some of the other, less-spiffy pools they are not as likely to check resort id's. OKW, CSR, CBR, PO - if it's not too crowded, they probably won't check - but beware, technically, you're not allowed to use the other resorts' pools.

I really hope you don't try it. Part of the reason people pay $300+/night to stay at the nicer resorts is for the themed pools. Wouldn't you be annoyed if you paid that amount of money and couldn't find a chair at your pool because people from the other resorts and offsite decided to drop by? I know it's a major pet peeve of mine.

Last year when we stayed at AKL they checked resort ID's and I saw 2 families asked to leave.:)

When you are staying at an All Star resort, you may use any pool at any All Star Resort. I'm sorry, but you're not allowed to use pools at resorts other than the All Stars.

They can and do enforce the rules by asking for resort ID and asking people who are not supposed to be there to leave, especially at the deluxe resort pools, which I would think would be very embarrassing.

If you want a more themed swimming experience than what you get at the ASR, you might want to visit one of Disney's three water parks for a day. Have fun!

I would sugest that if you want to try another pool while at WDW you try one of the water parks. They are Fantastic and offer a ton of things to do. As for pool hoping it is not allowed unless you are a DVC member and staying under your DVC membership.
