Using onboard credit for booking a placeholder cruise?

Was wondering can you use your onboard credit (we’ll have $275) toward the booking on board of your placeholder for your future cruise?

You can buy a gift card for that amount in the shops on board and use that. But you can't directly use the OBC at the future sales desk.
