Using Magical Express Without a Connecting Flight?

Is it possible to use Magical Express for a ride back to the airport without catching a connecting flight? We are wanting to spend 5 nights at a Disney resort, but then we want to rent a car and spend a couple nights at a beach before we fly home. The rental car prices are way cheaper at the airport than they are elsewhere. I don't want to rent a car while we are on Disney property, we just need a car for the beach at the end of the trip.

If the answer is no, could we rent a car from one of the companies on Disney property and then return it to the airport?

No fear. Yes, you can use DME without a flight. Just know they will probably ask what time your flight is, you can make up a time knowing they'll pick you up ~3 hours before that time. (ie: if you want to get to MCO @ 6pm, let them know your flight is at 8:30pm).

Or you may be able to tell them you want to arrive at MCO @6.

Just keep an eye on the prices and use any discount codes that you qualify for. I have found at t times it can less expensive at Disney than the airport.

Check the price on the rental both ways. Sometimes the week is really inexpensive to have he car available. Weekly rental codes are a great help

Do you mean you can stay at disney for 5 nts then leave and stay at an off-site hotel for 2 nts .at the beach and you can still use DME? I thought you needed to be on site checking out your last day to use DME.
How do you get your DME letter for the day you want to leave if your off-site?

No, you can't, but that's not the OP's situation. The OP wants to use DME on the day they check out of their WDW resort to go to the airport. From there, they are going to rent a car and drive to the beach.
