Using Magical Express A Few Days After Flight Arrival

We are flying into Orlando but will be renting a car and going to St. Petersburg for a few days before our Disney vacation. After our trip to St. Petersburg, can we drop off our luggage at the Poly, drive to the airport to return the car and from there catch Magical Express to our hotel? Thanks.

I guess you can, but why don't you return it someplace closer? There are a ton of car rental offices in the DTD area, as well as Alamo/National at the Dolphin and Alamo at the Car Care Center.
If you decide to head back to MCO, just give them a flight time that arrives close to when you'll be there.

Thank you both for the replies. I didn't think about returning it at a different location. Good thing I have these boards to think clearly for me.

We looked into doing this (returning the car at Disney), but the prices were quite a bit higher. I called ME and they don't have a problem with it as long as it is the day your reservations begin at Disney. We are going to take the car to our hotel in the morning, check in, spend the day at the parks, and then return the car in the evening at MCO. Then we can just take the ME back to the hotel...
