Using Kayak to book AirTran (free seat selection)

I'd like to use Kayak to book AirTran, but I can't figure out how to book so I can select the seats for free? If I select the fare I want, a popup comes up asking me which site I want to book with (Orbitz, Expedia, etc). How do I do it so I can pick our seats for free?

After you do a search on Kayak once you see the Airtran fare hit select and a box will pop up to link you to the AirTran site. Click on the Airtran one and that way you will get the free seat selection.

Airtran.com – $85 GoGo


Expedia.com – check

The "etc" in your example should include AirTran.com.

Thanks! I was a little confused when I clicked the Airtran link and it took me to their website. I thought I was going to be booking right on the Kayak site. Thanks for clearing it up for me!

The great thing about Kayak is that it is just a meta search tool not a booking engine. So there is absolutly no difference between flights you book by clicking through Kayak and booking directly with AirTran. You are still booking directly with AirTran. Using many other travel sites you book through them and then if you need to change something as simple as a seat assignment you have to go through the other travel site.
