Has anyone stayed at any of the resorts in Williamsburg, Virginia? We are thinking about a possible family road trip next summer including Colonial Williamsburg, then possibly HH. Any suggestions on where to stay or things to do around Williamsburg?

On another note: do all the 1 BR at BWV have a king bed, or are there any that have 2 double beds? Trying to get sleeping arrangements set!

Thanks!!

We stayed at the Sunterra resort outside of Williamsburg in 2007. Our rooms were nice....kind of your standard 2-bedroom timeshare suite. Plenty of room, even with my parents joining us and our 3 kids. There's a little bit of a drive to get to the Williamsburg attractions, but doable. One afternoon we used the pool at the resort and it was good. I believe there was a golf course available also.

All the DVC 1 bedroom units, including those at the BWV, have a king size bed in the Master bedroom.

There are no DVC resorts that have two beds in the Master bedroom.

Marriott's resort there will be the nicest overall but also a bit of a drive. I have not been to the Westgate resort and can't check now to see if it's on the list but it should be the nicest/closest resort right next to the college there. If you don't need a full week see if you can rent directly from an owner there, esp for the Wyndham or Bluegreen Resorts.

We stayed at the Marriott at Ford's Colony - didn't use our DVC points. Very nice resort. The last time we were there we really enjoyed Busch Gardens and Water Country their water park. Also did Williamsburg and Jamestown - Yorktown doesn't really interest us. Don't miss a bbq place called Pierce's - nothing fancy - but really good food. You have to ask for directions.
