Using GC’s to pay monthly dues debit?

Pretty sure the answer is “no” on this, but just to double-check:

I pay my dues via monthly auto-debit from my checking account. I have a Disney gift card with a balance on it of roughly two months’ worth of dues, and nothing to spend it on anytime soon.

Would Accounting allow me to apply the GC to cover the next two months of dues (in lieu of the debits from my checking), and then resume the usual debits after the two months are up?

Please and thank you!

You’re in luck - you are allowed and welcome to pay your dues with the gift card, as long as it is not a shopping card, limited to use by shopping at Disney.

Thx. I knew you could pay dues with a GC, but I wasn’t sure they’d let me suspend the auto-debit like that, pay dues with a GC, and then resume the auto-debit.

For future knowledge you can also use a Disney gift card to pay only part of you monthly debit. If you only pay 1/2 your monthly payment online with a gift card it will change the monthly payment for that month to only be the balance of the payment. Which it also nice!

Good to know because the GC is not exactly two months worth of dues. Thx!

Just go on the DVC website , pay what you want with the GC and it will offset a portion of your amount due and your regular debits will pick up where the GC left off. You'll get a confirmation email receipt. Don't throw away your GC until you get the receipt.

I use a cash back card to buy GC's, therefore, reducing my cost for MF's - lots of owners do this. It might buy you a few hot dogs next trip LOL!

You can do it online and as I understand it that is what DVC really wants you to do vs calling in. Once you've paid with the GC online it will automatically suspend the auto debit for the month or two months or whatever the length of time is that your GC's cover.

I also have monthly dues payments set up but I usually try to save 5% by buying disney gift cards at target for 5% off. So before my payment is due i will buy my GC and apply it to my account. I just have never gotten ahead enough to pay the entire MF bill with a GC when they are due so this works out to be the same.
