What do you suggest as a plan if I want to wait in line hours early for a celebrity autograph? The instructions for the autographs are that the admission ticket is used also as a fastpass for the autograph. But everyone is urging me to wait 2-4 hrs before the park opens (people are also doing sleepovers!) Does anyone know what time do they start going through the lines to give out autograph fastpasses?

I also need to buy a ticket for my son who because he isn't 6 yet didn't qualify for the GAD. Can I buy a ticket also at the Will Call when I redeem the GADs? If so, since we're planning on spending another day at DHS but next weekend, could I also upgrade our GADS and my DS one base ticket to 2 days at the same time, or should we wait until the following week?

Complications, complications....

They did it differently last year from the year before, so there is no telling how they'll do it this year, but last time they set up lines outside the turnstiles to give out the Fastpasses for the autographs, and I think they started doing that shortly before they let people through the turnstiles, which itself was a bit before rope drop.

You should have no problem getting a ticket at the same time.

You can ask to upgrade the tickets at the will call window. The rule is that you are supposed to use the ticket first before upgrading to properly validate it, but several have reported no issue.

However, if there is a chance you might not make it, I'd waite and upgrade it when you need to, since you have 14 days in which to upgrade it.

Then again, the savings of upgrading to a 2-day from a 1-day vs. buying another 1-day is $2...

Would they accept a GAD voucher as an admission ticket for me to get a fastpass if the Will Call booth is not open yet? I'm assuming they would since I could only use the voucher on the day it's to be redeemed.

I would really hate to stay in line thru the wee hours of the morning, they start handing out the fastpasses and look at my voucher and say, tough luck!

Actually, I don't know exactly how they give out the Fastpasses - maybe someone can confirm. If they are actual FP kiosks, which they've done in the past, then NO, the voucher is useless. You must convert that to a ticket first.
