Using FP for shows at AK?

I'm wondering about using FP for Nemo and/or the Lion King at AK. If we have a FP for a show, how does it work? Special seating section? Can we arrive 10 minutes before and get into the FP section of the show? Thanks :)

I certainly would not waste FP on the shows. The theatres are huge and there is never a problem getting in, at even 15 minutes prior.

Since we have extra MB to use for SDFP, I thought they might be useful to get FP for show shows since we already have the big rides covered.

The FP return window for shows closes 15 minutes prior to showtime. For a 1:00p FOLK, you'll need to arrive before 12:45.

The FP sections for shows are explained in the FP FAQ. :)

Nemo profits greatly with FP.
FotLK does not.

Does it make a difference to see the first Nemo show? It's at noon on our day. Thanks!

The FP+ procedure for all performances of Finding Nemo the Musical.

1. Make FP+ reservation.
2. Arrive at FP+ entrance 40-45 min. before the scheduled START TIME of the show.
(Ignore the FP+ Return Time listed.)
3. When they open the FP+ line, get in it and wait.
(You will be lined up outside the closed doors of the theater.)
4. They will open the doors to FP+ guests 10-15 min. before the scheduled START TIME of the show.
5. Go inside and, when allowed, choose your preferred seats.
(Best, either on the row directly behind the sound and lighting control booth,
-or- in seats adjacent to the center runway of the stage 1-5 rows in FRONT of the sound and lighting control booth.)
Do not sit in one of the front 2-3 rows in front of the main stage. (Stage is too tall and views will be blocked.)
6. They will then open the doors to standby guests who will fill the remaining seats.

If they don't let FP people in until 10-15 min before... why not get there like 20 min before vs 45?

You can, but then you will be (basically) the "first of the standby guests" (as they would be just behind you)
as opposed to being the "first of the FP guests."

Our experience with Nemo is waiting in a hot, unshaded standby line for 45+minutes watching all the FP guests enter the theater. We ended up sitting towards the back far left stage. Every seat in the theater is good, no bad seat in the theater. The wait was just atrocious and unnecessary.
Our experience with FOTLK was that we actually HAD FP+ for this show and STILL waited 30+minutes prior to our FP return time in a very crowded, hot outdoor line that again was extremely uncomfortable and unnecessary. Our seats were fine as there is no bad seat in the theater.
Conclusion: show up 15-20 minutes before the show and I'd be surprised if you didn't find a decent seat with almost no outdoor wait time.
Plus! 5 minutes before both shows start, the cast members make everyone move towards the centers of the rows to accommodate more guests entering the theater. Basically saying, yes you've been waiting for a long time and these people just showed up but move closer together and more off center so they can sit.
So be one of those people if you need to be because it seems like there will always be room!

We had FOTLK fastpasses (for the first showing) this last trip, and while we were the first people allowed in the theater, I really felt that unless you are the first of the fastpass folks in line the advantage is pretty small. There really isn't a bad seat in the theater. If you have the extra fastpasses go for it, but I didn't really feel it was necessary.
