Using FP at shows?

For shows with priority access, what are the chances of getting to sit together if some people in our group does the FP and some doesn't?

For example, in my party of 4, two of us are not planning on riding ToT, so I was thinking if scheduling their "ToT" FP to something else, like Voyage of the Little Mermaid.

If two of us waits in the FP line and two of us is in the standby line, given that we can all go in for the same show, would it be possible to sit together? Like the two FP users could wait around as soon as they enter until the rest of the group enters and find a seat together? I'm not sure how the process of entering the building works. I guess it would not be possible if they make you sit down in the order you come in,,,but I'm not sure if they do that or not?

For the little mermaid show. FP just lets you by pass the standby line outside. After FP and standby enter through the doors and merge, everyone waits together in one room for a few minutes before you enter the theater.

So you could meet up in that holding room, but then it would essentially be a waste of a FP for the 2 people. If you all just meet up in the holding room you could all just do standby together.

So for what you want, yes you could all sit together as long as you meet up in the holding room. But for shows its strongly recommended you have your whole party together if you want to sit together as they don't want you holding seats

Simple answer:
Either all in the party should use FP, or nobody use FP.

A "mix" is difficult and ineffective.

We did it at nemo and voyage of little mermaid . Mermaid was super easy, they dump you all into the same holding room. Nemo was much more difficult, but it wasn't a very crowded day so we were able to all sit together

And I agree, waste of FP on the little mermaid if you're going at a slow-ish time. It didn't buy us anything at all

In this example, I would ask the reason for the two not riding Twilight Zone - why? Not saying they should ride no matter what but just asking. If both are above the height requirement, all four can go through the queue together and the two that don't want to ride can leave before boarding the elevator up. BUT - if there is one person who is under the height requirement, no go. If there is one person who is scared easily, no go. But if it's just because of the drop, you all can "enjoy" everything and two of you just exit before boarding the up elevator. I've taken the alternative exit and the entire experience even without the drop is amazing.

Then all four of you do stand by at Little Mermaid.

I had no idea about that! Yes it's just because of the elevator drop. If they can still go through the queue and not do the elevator and exit right before then that sounds perfect! Thank you for letting me know.

A few things to pass on to those who won't be doing the drop. After they leave the ones who are doing the drop, (all four will do the library and the boiler room), they will board an elevator that goes down, not up. However, have them really look at everything around them on the way to their elevator and once it's at the end of that short journey. The theming doesn't stop just because they left the main area. And, they are seeing things those thrill riders will never see. They will have a Cast Member with them but they can ask to stop and take photos to show off to the ones who didn't want to take the plunge they just took. After the elevator ride, they will be shown into the waiting area which is just after where the other people get off their elevators that rose to the top. There are lots of benches and it's a riot seeing the people coming off after their 13 story plunge (you can also see the area before everyone boards by going in through the gift shop and towards where the photo area is). They will be able to sit there and enjoy themselves until their silly family members hobble out of the elevators. It's a very easy way to bypass something you don't like and you will be waiting and having fun and you won't miss your party when they exit.
