I want to make sure I'm not making people angry. We use a GAC when we need to but try to use Fastpass when they are available so as to not abuse/overuse the GAC. This is for our older son who is not in a wheelchair/stroller. I have been told by friends who live by Disney that I should not do that as there are a limited amount of fastpasses and I should just use the GAC.

Can anyone shed light on this?

I think Disney encourages you to use the FP as much as possible - even with a GAC....especially if your family splits up, etc. That doesn't make sense to me. Times when we had a GAC we would try to maximize our FP use so as to minimize our GAC use.

There are some rides where you must use a Fast Pass even if you have a GAC in order to use the FP lane. Toy Story Mania is the first that comes to mind. Soarin' is another one. In other words, having a GAC does not automatically entitle a person to use the FP lane. :cool2:

It is printed right on the Guest assistance Card that you should get and use Fastpasses if you want to shorten your wait in line. (So Disney is telling people right on the card that htey should get Fastpasses).

The intent of GACs is to give accommodations people need. Because of their disability, not to shorten waits in line.

I'm going to close this thread because the question was answered.
