Using DXDDP credits on family who won't have dining plan

me and dh will have DXDDP and are meting with 2 other adults for dinner. When it's time to settle up, can the CM deduct 4 TS credits from my band? Will we ever have problems "paying" with more credits than people listed on the DP?

Previously there was a specific sentence in the dining plan brochures that said credits could not be used for those not on your plan. While that sentence is no longer there and some third party sites reported that this was one of the new changes, there hasn't been any official word from Disney that this will be possible. No one has posted whether they were successful or not, but hopefully someone will report back before your trip or you can report whether this was possible.

Even if someone reports back that they were able to do so, it doesn't mean you will be. Each restaurant can and do interpret things differently. I think you need to be prepared with some alternate form of payment just in case.

I just figure if I purchase a DxDDP, I wouldnt have a problem using them how I wanted. What if I wanted to order my DD a meal (she is 2 and I wouldnt lol) and ordered 3 entrees for the 2 of us, I should be able to use 3 TS credits.

I've had to reserve two rooms for quite some time now with adult children up until this Christmas trip, I have also purchased two dining plans because I could not use credits for my family registered in the other room. In my experience, I have seen a multitude of things happen. Some examples were: CM wait staff only needing to see one band and charging all five TS on the plan even though the band said 2 or 3; CM wait staff responding to my comments about having so many left over TS credits by asking if I'd like to purchase meals for anyone else in the restaurant; a family being given a hard time (meaning that a manager had to be called over) at TREX to use more TS credits than the band said - he let them; Raglan Road CM being very specific about seeing two bands to total five TS credits.

So in my long winded examples, the point I have found is that (1) it has always been up to the restaurant to decide whether I can use my TS credits for non dining plan members and (2) it is the restaurants that are on the dining plan but outside of disney control (so to speak) that were the strictest. Given that...I never wanted to deal with it .... so I bought plans for each room.

This year I have decided to get the Deluxe plan on the room with two (2) adults and I will use my TS credits for all five of us. Even though they haven't spelled it out that I can do that....I feel more confident than I have in other trips that I will have no problem. Just my two cents of experience.

You would think so, but unfortunately, in the past it has not been that way. I'm not sure, but I think one way Disney makes money from the plans (and especially the DxDDP) is from people who leave credits on the table. If you can use your credits on people who aren't on the plan, they will lose that extra money, along with the money those people would spend without your generosity.

It is their plan, and they are allowed to set the rules. Again, my opinion is, they dropped the strict wording about not sharing from the brochure, and they will probably allow it. By not specifically stating you CAN do this, many people will not even think of doing it and still leave those credits on the table.

Absolutely it will work. not all persons has towear the magic band unless eentering a park. 2 adults per band.. yo have 4 adults

We are just leaving Disney.

We purchased the DXDDP for one room and not the other.

We had no issue at any restaurant we dined at using our entitlements for people from both rooms (not matching the # of adults/children listed.)

We were told by several cast members that it was absolutely allowed.

This was the most relaxed experience we have had since the first year we used the DDP. The servers were okay with just about anything.

This is the feedback we were hoping to hear. We also have two rooms and plan to do this as well. Makes the deluxe plan absolutely worth it for us.
