I hope I'm in the right board to ask this question, I'm still new here and haven't posted much yet. We are planning a Disney trip for next May and we were suppose to use my MIL Timeshare off property. We really want to stay on Disney and my DH stepmother's friend is a DVC owner. She is willing to let us use it next year. I haven't spoke to her directly b/c I don't know her but was wondering if anyone knew how much it might cost us? We have 5 kids ranging in ages 2-11. Thanks:)

It all depends on when you are going--specific dates, the type of DVC villa you want (with a family of 7--I'd say at least a 2bd), and how much per point she is wanting to charge. The going rate per point is anywhere from $10-$15pp.

The cost to use her timeshare would be between you and her. But some members will make a reservation for others and charge them anywhere from the dues cost to $10-15 a point. Dues run about $5-7 a point. So negotiate with her.

You will still need park admission, dining, transportation, etc. But you can use Magical Express (if they still have it next year) and you can purchase the dining plan (you just pay for it when it is added to the reservation). You get very limited housekeeping (only every four days) and you don't get a full cleaning until you have at least an eight night reservation (you get full cleaning on day 4 with an 8 night or more stay). Otherwise you just get your towels replaced and trash removed on day 4.

Why would they NOT have ME next year? Just curious.

they haven't always had it. some casual disney fans would be surprised to hear that the snow white ride is going away...

they'll probably have DME next year but if gas prices go up or whatever and disney corp decides that DME is more expensive than it's worth, then it will go away.

if it goes away for onsite hotels, it goes away for DVC as well.
