Using DVC for moderate resorts?

I did it once before the $95 fee for a last minute Sunday night addon to a business trip in October. No DVC rooms available, had points to use.

I did it once (before the extra $95 fee was required) because there wasn't a DVC resort available for the night I needed. (I had decided to go one night early to take advantage of a great price on airfare). Probably wouldn't do it now because paying cash somewhere for an extra night would be a better value than using points, given that $95 fee.

I had the same experience. Two years ago, my daughter got a job at WDW with a start date about three weeks later. I drove diwn with her to help her move and there was nothing available except for POFQ. Not that there was anything wrong with that! First time I ever stayed onsite without visiting a park. We had a day to ourselves before we had to move her in. It was so worth it in the end.
