We have used DME before and used the luggage tags. Last time they misplaced one of our bags and we had gone to Disney Springs and didn't return until late in the evening to find one bag missing. We are returning in Oct and was thinking of Collecting our luggage at the airport (not using tags) becuase it will be close to check in time when we arrive at resort. That way we can take luggage right to room and set it up before heading to one of the parks.

My question is has anyone has any problems taking the luggage on DME? We have never done it that way. Thanks for any help.

No issues taking your luggage with you on the DME buses. They have plenty of room in the underneath compartments.

A lot of people do this. Just be aware that the driver will be looking for a tip for baggage handling. A gratuity isn't included if you take your bags to the bus with you, only if Disney grabs your bags at MCO and delivers them to your room for you.
You may very well end up storing the bags if the room isn't ready yet, so yet another gratuity will be needed.

Regarding the bolded, are you sure it was ME that misplaced one of your bags and not the airline? It's possible the airline didn't give the bag to ME, and that's why it was late. If that happens when you collect your bags at MCO, you'll have to wait until every bag is off the plane, then file a claim with baggage services for whatever airline you're flying. All of that could add an hour or more to your journey. Just FYI.

Yes, the bag was actually at the resort just didn't make it to the rooms with the others. It took them a while to track it down.
