Using Disney Rewards Redemption Card

I have a Disney Visa credit card, and for our April trip we will have around $500 in Disney reward dollars on our redemption card. My question is if DW restaurants (table service & quick service) will accept this as payment? I'm kind of assuming it's like a gift card, but I wanted to double check because this is our main way we'll be paying for our meals.

Yes, you can use the rewards card at restaurants and at stores. I cannot think of any that does not accept it.

I used ours last year to pay for alcohol drinks , souvenirs and tips since we had everything else covered by the dining plan. I did not see any restaurants or food stands that would not take it. One tip is if you have not already put the $500 on the card I would travel with only a small amount added. You can add balance quickly over the internet or by phone. The card does not have your name or require a pin number. If it is lost it can be used by anyone. We lost ours one night at California Grill. I had it when we paid for drinks at the bar befor dinner but could not find it when we went to pay the tip. I charged the tip to our room and called and cancelled the card as soon as they checked the bar and could not find it. I got our drinks right befor fireworks and it was crazy busy I am not sure if I never got it back or dropped iit. We were able to get a new card the next morning at epcot and used it the same day. In the future i would not put more then I planned to use for the day on the card.

I think it was only a few of the snack carts that wouldn't take it on our last trip (Aug 2012). All the restaurants were fine with it, and that was pretty much our entire dining budget.
We put what little was left onto a regular gift card on the last day - that way the credit never expires. A Rewards card has an expiration of a year after transferring from the account to the card.

This is what we do too. After the first charge to the room, I go to the Front Desk and apply the entire amount of the rewards card to my account. From then on, we charge to the room and it "draws down" on the rewards points.
Be sure to keep the card. If you have a refund balance at the end of your trip, it is applied to the original card.
