Using Disney Rewards card

it has been a while since i have been on here so i dont know if this is where to post this or not but......... i used my rewards card to make a purchase at the disneystore.com. i made my purchase (2 pair mickey crocs) well when my order arrived it only had one pair with a letter saying they were sorry but they didnt end up having the second pair anymore but they issued a online shopping card for the price of the shoes.
my question is can that be used like the rewards card toward my balance on my trip?
I was a little upset that they didnt let me know before they shipped my package b/c i might have cancelled it all together b/c shipping was too high for 1 pair of shoes.

Gift Certificates for disneyshopping.com cannot be used at the parks or resorts. If they issued you a credit for online shopping, you will not be able to use it to make a payment on your trip.

Some people have been able to use disneyshopping gift certificates to purchase Disney GCs on the website but I don't know if that is still a possibility.

They tried to do that to me once when I paid w/ a regular credit card. No way was I accepting a "store" credit when they could just refund me...I called & told them it was unacceptable & to refund my money back to my credit card. They did.

If you can't buy a Disney GC w/ the online credit, call them & tell them you want the money back on your rewards card. It may work...
