I was thinking of purchasing Disney Gift Cards for Paying for my Vacation Package.

I have seen on "MY Disney Account" where I can pay using Disney Gift Cards but was
wondering if there were a set limit on the number of Disney Gift Cards that could be used?

I've read where people have combined several cards into one larger amount card.

Is that because of a limit in number of cards that can be used as payment? or just convenience?

You're probably thinking of the Disney Vacation Account (DVA). I don't know if there is a limit to the maximum amount that you can place in the account but there is no limit as to the number of GCs that you can enter.

I've read where people have combined several cards into one larger amount card.
That can be done on disneygiftcard .com. You can combine up to a maximum of $1K on a single GC and you can have a maximum of 5 GCs stored in that account at one time.

There are limits online for the number of GCs that can be used for purchasing tickets. There may be a limit as to the number of GCs that can be applied to your package online in a single day but not if you call to pay. Some people combine GCs to just make this process easier. Others do it because they have a lot of small GCs and they don't want to have to carry a stack of them to Disney in order to pay for room-only, meals and souvenirs.

I just went to Disney.com and asked one of the CMs and they said that you can only use One Disney Gift Card as payment so you would have to Combine all of the Disney Gift card into one card in order to pay the whole amount online.
I will go to the disneygiftcard.com website and combine my cards. thanks

You can only use one card at a time. That's only a problem when paying the $200 deposit, because you can only use one card. But when you make payments, you can make as many payments as you want.

I'm following this with another question. Is there now a limited number of gift cards you can use when you check into a resort? 3 years ago I arrived with a stack and they didn't seem to mind at that time. If they won't do it, is there somewhere on property you can go to get them all put onto one gift card? Seems it would be faster to swipe a card than to enter each card number.

I paid off almost my full vacation with gift cards. Some $100, some $50, and tons of $25 giftcards (great deal over clad). So I don't think there is a limit...

Did you call and pay your Vacation over the phone? or did you "Make a Payment" to your Package Online? thanks

Is this online? or by phone? I've already put my $200 deposit using just my CC, but would like to use GC to pay the Remaining Balance. thanks

I just paid for my whole vacation using many gift cards in different amounts so I don't believe there is a limit. Sometimes I combined them on disneygiftcard.com and other times I just painstakingly entered them one by one. I did it online in the Make a Payment section of My Account/Reservation. After you enter the gift card, click apply payment, and then go back and re-do the process for every gift card you have.

If you call, you should probably limit yourself to 5 or so cards per day, but they probably won't stop you from using more than that. You can always call back and make another partial payment. There won't be any restriction online.

Where do you get these cards? I've heard about them, but every time I'm in a store....they don't have them. Target, Walmart, Walgreens...no Disney cards to be found. :rolleyes1

I have a stupid question..
On the Disneygiftcard.com site, when combining cards into one, does it matter that the value amount on the card reads $100?? Can I still add up to $1000 on that card?
Thanks

BJS has the $100's for $96ish

I just made 2 separate payments on my Disney package yesterday using giftcards.

I don't know if they will take gift cards up front in lieu of having a credit card on file, which is what it sounds like you want to do, but you can use gift cards to pay off your room charges at any time during your stay. I charge everything to our room via MagicBand while in the parks, then go to the concierge the day before we check out and use gift cards to pay off the balance. I've never had a problem using multiple gift cards to do this. Just make sure you do it on the day BEFORE your check out day, as they automatically charge the CC on file sometime around midnight on your check out date.

Thanks everyone!
That's what I thought, to make a payment, you could enter one card at a time into your "My Disney Experience" but
was informed differently by the CM (sometimes they don't even know) I talked to.
I'm glad others have tried it and it worked online, I hate calling, would rather do it myself.

I have an answer my own stupid question...
Yes, you can increase the value of a gift card with a face value on it

Please keep your gift cards after you have used them to pay, even if there is zero value left on them. If you end up needing a refund, it goes back on the method of payment. it's a hassle and takes longer if you have tossed your old gift cards.
