Using Dining Plan at Kidani

We are staying at Jambo but I have a question about Kidani dining. I am sure it has been asked before. Can you use the dining plan at the Kidani pool? If you order Private Dining is it 2 TS or is it cash only? Do they have any dining at the Jambo pool or is the counter service restaurant close enough to sit out and eat by the pool?? Thanks!

At Jambo House, the pool is located right by The Mara which is the counter service location. The pdf version of the dining plan brochure has been updated to include Sanaa at Kidani Village. The pool bar is not listed as accepting the dining plan. Private In-room Dining is 2 credits.

Im about 99% sure that the trip reports from various people said the Kidani pool bar does NOT take the dining plan at this time.

Thanks for the answers. Not to hijack this thread but I think I'm about to ditch the dining plan, not working out well for us.

No problem for hijacking. I am glad you bumped it up. I am not sure what I am going to do about the dining plan either. I guess you can add me to the wish list for a CS at Kidani.

I'm thinking we are going back to the Tables in Wonderland card, I really like it better.

I have TIW and not really sure I'm going to renew. It went up in price and seems like I eat less often at the places accepting it. My DVC card and AP offers discounts that would probably work just as well for me. All I can say for TIW is that it pays for the tip (excluding the membership cost).

Indeed! If most DVC members cook their meals in their room, I could understand the lack of dining options. However, I can't help but think that the majority of members would prefer to see some type of counter service/food court options at their resort. Kidani just is so limited.

Dining was one of our biggest issues last week staying at Kidani. We had no interest in Sanaa (especially for 6 nights) so every time we wanted to grab a bite we had to go somewhere else. Even going to Mara would have been effort - walk it (and it rained all darn week), catch a bus, or drive there. The reality is since we had to go to the effort of going somewhere anyway, we ended up eating off property for most of our evening meals.

Slightly off-topic - Has anyone been in the remodeled McDonald's near the All-Star resorts yet? It's not an improvement IMHO. Many of the tables are tiny now and very little room for even just two people. The decor and colors are so strange - primarily white walls/flooring with coral, lime green and pale yellow furnishings. There are even these two long, bar like tables with an odd wood arch around them (think jail cell bars but in an arch going from floor at one end of table, over your head and down the other end of table) with a large LCD tv on the inside of each end. I think it was going for a modern contemporary theme but yuck! I think they could have done alot better or left it as it was even.

I can see what you mean. I've got to do some calculations with where we want to eat on this trip. I had the dining plan taken off our ressie last night though- no counter service at Kidani, can't get category 1 seating at dinner shows with the dining plan (DD wants to go to the luau for her birthday), couldn't get another ressie we wanted (Fantasmic). I didn't even mind using the 2 credits for a couple of things, it just wasn't working out for this trip.

I have had the TIW before too and we loved it. We tend to eat at a lot of table service places and it was great to be able to use it in lounges for drinks too. I think it does depend on how you use it :thumbsup2
