Using DDP calculator and coming up with a negative TS number

I am using a Disney Dining Plan calculator for the DDP(excellent one) based on 5 people for 5 nights.
It says I will have 25 TS, 25 CS and 25 Snacks.
Based on the restaurants I chose for the 5 nights I end up -15 for TS. I need 40 TS
Can I choose which restaurant I want to pay out of pocket for?
I chose 3 restaurants: Narcooses, California Grill and Artist Point.
Do I have to tell them I am on the DP if I know that I am going to pay OOP for the cheaper restaurants other than these 3? It says I am still saving money by using the plan, can this be true?

At each meal you will tell your server whether you are on the DDP or not. So sit down before you go and calculate out which meal will cost the least (keeping in mind needing 1 ts or 2 ts). Just look at the menus and guess what you are likely to order. Then at the meal you are paying OOP just tell the server.

YES! You can definitely pick the restaurants yo want to psy OOP for! You just tell your server when you are seated...if you want to use TS credits or pay OOP...Breakfasts are the better choices to pay for OOP, just in case you had not figured that one out already, I am sure you have!
