Using Cash Instead of Points for a Cruise

Not sure if I should put this on this board or the cruise board...

We booked our cruise through the Disney website, not through MS. We paid cash. Don't DVC members usually get a goodie bag in your stateroom? I tried calling Disney Cruise Line to tell them that we are members, and she said that there was no where to input that into the system.

Are we out of luck since we didn't book it through MS? Can you even book a cash reservation through MS? Are there any meets or receptions onboard for DVC members? Will those be posted in the Personal Navigator?

I am leaving on my cruise on April 25th and I also paid cash for my crusie instead of using my points. From what I have been told by other DVC members who have cruised with DCL on a cash reservation is that DCL "just knows "who are DVC members; but that if you don't get a goodie bag in your stateroom that you can stop by the DVC desk and let them know. I will find out next week when I go on my cruise.

They will know you're DVC members. Just part of the magic! Last summer we booked a 4 nighter with points followed by a 3 nighter on cash and we got DVC member gifts left for us on both cruises. They did have a DVC reception on the cruises (yes, look in the daily Navigators for times). I didn't go but DH did. He got DVC ballcaps, pins & lanyards I think as gifts. He said I didn't miss much tho (not a high attendance).
