Will most places have change for larger bills like $50s? Or do places like the smaller carts prefer to have nothing larger then $20s? I have some 50s I'm saving for the trip, but want to make sure I can get change when I use one to pay for my corndog!

I'd use those $50 bills to buy Disney Gift Cards - you can buy them at places like Walgreens, Smith's *that's my Kroger grocery store* or online ~ they ship for free from *here* & *here*

I add $$ to my Disney Gift Cards by calling DelivEARS ~800-362-4533 *you give the CM your credit/debit card info and they mail you the receipt. Last time I did this *a couple months ago* the $$ was on the GC the next day.

We usually carry a few twenties but everything thing goes on the debit card if allowed.

Thanks, Jack ... this is our preferred way as well. Don't like to carry a lot of cash and have just never done the Disney gift card thing. Debit cards all the way for us.

You shouldn't have a problem any place getting change, even from a cart, but the cast member might be bummed if you suck up a lot of their change. I hate carrying larger bills just because it is more painful when you lose one.

You might break them at your hotel or at main gate.

I remember our last trip being hesitant to use a 100 dollar bill. But it was no problem whatsoever. Now, mind you, this was not at a food cart or vendor, it was CS. So, it may differ depending on how much cash they carry with them.

We call $20 bills yuppie food stamps. We as a family tend to carry no more than a $20 bill in denomination, as it makes it easier to get change and everything else. Try to avoid your $1.00 bills as they take up too much room in the wallet (am used to loonies and toonies up here).

I only had one place not be able to take a $100 bill and that was at the Gray Line bus terminal at SNA airport. We landed at 9:30 am and wanted to take the Disneyland Express to DLH; she said that this was their first bus of the morning so they didn't have change yet.

I don't get the love of gift cards. I think Dilbert said it best: "You're trading perfectly good money for something that does the same thing, only not as well." :)

As far as big bills go, I wouldn't try to use them at a cart for the obvious reason that you'll probably be sucking up all their change in one transaction. Assuming they even keep that much on hand. Stores and counter service, though, go for it. They have multiple registers and can more easily absorb the transaction. They also have managers handy to change larger bills if necessary. If you want to change 50s and 100s, I suggest you stick to doing those in non-cart situations.

You could also break them down at guest services outside the park.

Please feel free to use large bills at any location throughout the Disneyland Resort, including outdoor stands and carts. There is no standing prohibition on the matter.

If you would like to break a large bill, you can do so at any Restaurant, Gift Shop or Outdoor Cart; as well as at any Guest Relations location.

Cast Members are very much used to receiving large bills for relatively tiny purposes (it is a destination that attracts a large amount of Tourists, after all), so you don't have to worry about that either.

Sure it's a pain to pay for something that only cost a few dollars with a $50 or $100 bill but I'm not picky when exchanging my money and I typically carry more cash than anything when at DL. I'm not big on charging things to a credit card that I can pay for with cash.

yes, its fine to use big bills at any locations within the resort. BUT cast members may decline if they just started on the location. You will end up with a lot of super small bills, aka $1s and $5s if you insist...

Look at it this way, anyone who has handled cash would know this.

If five customers pay cash before you they will most likely have given the CM, 5 twenties. So as long as you aren't in the first five to show up, they will have change to give you. It is as simple as that.
