Using Banked Points to Book for next UY

We just bought resale and officially have our points! We have 64 banked and 150 that come to us on Dec 1. When I talked to reservations yesterday he said something about borrowing points to make the reservation.... Wouldn't we be using the banked points first or do we have to wait till they are actually available (Dec 1)?

You would have to borrow your 2011 points if you plan on going before December 1. When you bank your points, you cannot use them until your next UY starts - so come Dec. 2011, you will have 214 points. If you want to travel before December of next year, you would have to borrow the points needed (taken away from your 150) that you will get as of December 2011. Hope this helps.

i'm guessing you have a dec UY with 64 of the 2009 UY pts banked into 2010 that will be available for stays from dec 1, 2010 through nov 30, 2011.

then you have 150 pts in your 2010 UY that are also available for stays from dec 1, 2010 through nov 30, 2011.

what month (and year) are you planning to travel?

You don't have to wait for the use year to start to be available to use points. The only way you would have to borrow is for a stay before 12/1/10.

You would have to borrow your 2011 points if you plan on going before December 1. For a stay before 12/1/10, they would have to borrow 2010 since they would still be in their 2009 use year.

For dates of stay between 12/1/10 and 11/30/11, they could use 2009 banked, 2010 current, 2011 borrowed. They could book at their home resort now up to 10/4/11, any other resort for a stay up to 6/4/11.

Thanks everyone! You are right. Our 64 banked points are '09 UY and we get all of our 2010 150 on Dec 1 2010 as well. Thanks for the answers! I should have been more specific about what year everything was from.
