Using ART Pass Purchased from Groupon

I purchased a 5-day ART pass from Groupon. (I thought it was discounted, but apparently it wasn't....oh well.) It looks like I need to redeem this voucher at a hotel that offers ART ticketing service in its lobby. The voucher itself has an image of a ticket with a barcode on it, but my recollection from using ART in 2017 is that I need to have that little magnetic stripe card thing to feed into the machine on the bus. Groupon's instructions didn't make a lot of sense, and the instant chat person didn't know anything about Anaheim.

Does anyone have experience with these vouchers? If it turns out the machine on the bus can scan it, that would help me out as my own hotel does not offer ART ticketing.

Motel 6 Maingate on Disney Way sells the ART tickets if this is near where you are staying. Otherwise I would check out hotels within walking distance of your hotel. You should be able to just exchange the Groupon for the actual ticket with the magnetic strip

I would check to see if you can enter the voucher into the ART App. I bought my pass through the phone and it was super easy to use.

I will be at the Kings Inn (former Super 8) which I believe is near some of the hotels that handle ART. It seems like the Groupon purchasing process should have asked me for a specific pickup location, but it didn't...hopefully I can just use any hotel that stocks these passes. I'll take a look at the app as well.

It turns out the app cannot store tickets or vouchers pre-purchased from a third party. It offered to sell me a new ticket, but that's all it can do.

I suppose I'll just stop in at the Motel 6 or maybe the Peacock Suites and see if they will redeem the voucher for me. Because there was nowhere in the purchase process to specify the pickup hotel, my guess is they will say they were never sent a ticket for me to pick up and thus they can't help me. (I've had that situation with a LOT of Groupon vouchers before, but that was so long ago I figured things must be better now.) It's no huge deal, 23 bucks in the context of a Disney trip, which I understand is not enough to park for even one day any more. :crazy2: I'll probably end up buying a fresh ticket out of the lobby machine and trying to get some relief from Groupon at a later time.

Update! I received an email the other day from the entity ("Viator") that offers this deal through Groupon. They stated that they needed my hotel info and to send it to them in a reply message (which I did). I gather this means that there is a *slight* chance the ART pass will be waiting for me at check-in. Why they did not ask me this when I was going through the purchase process, I don't know. I will post again next month with the final outcome of this stimulating saga. :rolleyes1

To update the foregoing: It was pretty much as I figured, the hotel had my ART ticket waiting for me at check-in. I expect to use it tomorrow for the ride to/from DL. And, as I understand a sort of mini-heat wave is on the way, I will be looking forward to riding an (allegedly) air-conditioned bus rather than trudging back and forth in the hot sunshine.
