Using AP and Shareholders at restaurants?

Hi
When we were at Cafe Mickey in Oct we were given the free Kir aperatifs and oj for the kids and they took our shareholders card at the end and gave us the 15% discount.
However when we went in December we asked for the aperatifs (I did show the waiter both cards at the beginning as I couldn't remember which one was for what) and then at the end of the meal were told we couldn't use our shareholders 15% only the 10% AP discount. Had a bit of a 'chat' with the manager as nobody had pointed it out and we had done it in October and in the end he agreed to take the 'free' drinks off the bill.
Has anybody else had any experience of this as I don't want to go through that again?!

As far as I know, the free drink comes with the AP and you would also get 10% off the bill.
The shareholders card gives 15% but you are not entitled to a free drink because the 2 offers cannot be combined.

I have heard of other people getting both before now as you did in October, but it is usually done in error.

Ok thanks for clarifying - will keep the AP hidden next time and just use shareholders card!

When we got our first set of APs in the summer of 2005 we were able to benefit from the complimentary kirs with our APs and then claim the 15% shareholders discount with every meal and it was actively encouraged by the CMs, in fact it was the CM who served us in the AP Bureau who told us to claim both perks! I'd never have asked for free drinks and then the bigger discount myself if I hadn't been told to as would just have assumed it couldn't be done. In fact some CMs would even let our DDs have a coke or lemonade instead of the kir/juice.

Fast forward a year to the summer of 2006 and we were benefiting from both comp kirs and 15% right up until our last night when we were told it wasn't allowed. We couldn't be bothered to argue as we didn't want to spoil a lovely evening and paid for the 2 kirs but we queried it with the AP Bureau and although I never got a straight answer from them LOL ;) when we bought our next set of APs in 2007 it quite clearly stated in the T&C that you couldn't combine discounts and this most definitely had not been in the 2005 T&C.

I guess they just decided at some point to tighten up on things.
