Hello everyone

Just wondering if anyone has had any problems renting a car and booking a hotel room using airmiles. I already have reservations for both on regular bookings but I am wondering if it is worth it doing it using airmiles instead as the CAN-US dollar exchange is killing us :crutches:

Thanks in advance!

Never had any problems with either car or hotel bookings. Just got back last Sunday and we did the following:
hotel close to MCO since flight landed late .. 900 AM plus 13.54 taxes & 11.30 loyalty fee upon booking in CDN ..nothing on -site.
Car to get to the Dolphin where we turned it in .. 495 AM, 11.30 CDN booking fee and $12.17 US when we picked it up
Car to get back to MCO ... 280 AM 11.30 CDN booking fee and $6.53 US when we picked up the car
And when we got back to Pearson (since the flight didn't land till 12:45) hotel 1000 AM (left this one a little late so took more miles!) $17.52 taxes and 11.30 loyalty fee paid when booked again nothing when we checked out.

So YES i think the total cost for the car getting from and back to MCO 775 AM and the $22.60 booking fee plus the ~~20-ish CDN (i used cash so can't really figure out exchange) more than worth the effort to book it! Since we were staying at the Dolphin ME isn't an option and taking a shuttle would have run around $120 CDN.
GO FOR IT! I love using my AM for these two things have a great trip

I used AM to book a minivan for 2 weeks when we went to DW in December. I think it was 5300AM but did not cover US taxes/fees which were $137US. There may have been a nominal Cdn fee but I can't remember. The cheapest I could book the same van was $578 US, so definitely worth it to save those miles. We also booked 2 hotels rooms at the Toronto airport for our first night without issue.
