Using AAA Disney agent - best deal?

We are planning our second trip to Disney and want to stay at the Grand Floridian. Is using a AAA disney agent most likely to get us the best deal or am I better off searching for my own rates, etc. Thanks!!

We just about always are able to save some $$$ by booking through AAA. It is usually at least $200.00 or so. We do book a MYW with the basic DDP.

I still book my room only directly with Disney ahead of time before the rates are out for the AAA packages. But, I most always end up canceling and then booking with AAA, since I could save some $$$. The only reason I like to book with Disney, is so I guarantee the resort/room catagory I want, just in case it is not available.

I also still check around on my own, but usually cannot beat the AAA rate. I used to be a travel agent, so out of habit I check quite a few web sites and call a few travel agencies, you just never know, so it doesn't hurt to shop around.

One thing I forgot to mention...I do usually book my own airfare, I usually can find a better deal on it than AAA.

Depending on when you are going, if Disney releases a discount for your dates, it could be better than the discount you get through AAA. You might want to ask your AAA TA if they watch for new specials to be released by Disney and automatically modify your reservation to get you the best rate. I know agencies such as Small World or Dreams will do this for you but not sure about AAA. While AAA might seem like the best deal now, they might not be the best deal in the end.

Definitely depends on when you are going. Most of the time, AAA is the better deal, but I found a better AP deal for our June trip, granted it was only $25 less than my AAA discount, I can find another way to use that $25 at WDW.

Most AAA agents will NOT look for a better deal for you. I have heard of only 1 that did for someone. The one I originally used was not great the first time I used her, but she was well versed by the second time I used her and now she has decided to be a SAHM and the girl I have been left with can't keep up with me. I have had to do all the work, except calling Disney.

If you want a package, you must got though AAA for the discount. If all you want is a room, then you can book through AAA yourself.
