Hi... we are going to WDW for Christmas in 2008. It will be our first trip to Disney and I'm just trying to figure out how to make the trip possible for my mother. She needs a walker for walking long distances. My question is: When she rides an attraction (obviously very mild ones) is there somewhere that she can keep the walker and pick it up after the attraction - without it "walking" away without her?

Do you have suggestions? Thanks for your help.:cool1:

I am going to move your question to the regular disABILITIES Board, where the questions are about WDW. I think you will find more answers to your question and also might find some hints in other threads on that board.

Unless she can walk up to 3-6 miles a day with her walker, I'd suggest you get either get a wheelchair or an ECV (mobility scooter) for her.
There is information in the disABILITIES FAQs thread about places to get one (from the parks or one of the offsite places). There is a lin k in my signature to that thread.
If you rent from off-site, you may be able to get or rig up a way to carry her walker on the wheelchair or ECV. That way, she would be able to use the wheelchair/ECV for long distances and the walker for shorter distances.

For some attractions, the boarding and unload area are in the same place. For those, she would leave the walker at the boarding place and it would be waiting for her when she gets off. For some, she may be able to bring the walker onto the ride car with her.
For all shows and movie/stage type attractions, she would bring the wheelchair/ECV or walker in with her and have it by her seat.

ding, on good days my grand father used the walker, on bad days we got an ECV. on Walker days, there it would be parked with the ECVs.
