Using a Travel Agency

I don't know if they will save you any money but they will certainly take the hassle out of making your plans. They have better access to the lowest rates whereas you may have to hunt for the best rates (and may miss them altogether). I say use a travel agent and let them do the work for you - it ususally doesn't cost you a penny!

Try Dreams Unlimited! They are fabulous!!

They can get the best rates and make PS for you.

They give you an itenerary with all your plans and PS on it.

Hi,
You might not save any $$ if you go through a travel agent being that the Gov rate is a very good rate at the Dolphin. However, it will not cost you any more to go through a travel agent (most of them anyway) and they can make all kinds of arrangements for you, so you dont have to deal with the phone calls and hassle :)

I, too, want to second Dreams Unlimited Travel (the owner of the Dis website) if you are looking for a travel agency. I have used them in the past and will use them in the future. I had excellent service from them (and they are so doggone friendly, too!). Here is the link to Dreams Unlimited Travel's website. By the way, they offer another service, a discount service, that I think might be worth your while to check out. It is called DISavers (of which I am a member) and here is the link to information regarding DISavers.

This is all my humble opinion, and others' opinions, as it should be, will vary.

Things have changed in the travel industry. With the airlines eliminating commissions to travel agents, almost all of them are now charging for their services. However, what they do for you can save you more than they charge. If you do use them, make sure you have their phone number with you when you travel. If something happens, ( weather delayed plane departure or cancellation), it will be much easier to call them for changes than fight the mob at the check-in counter.

We initially made reservations with AAA then cancelled because they would grant an extension to pay the trip off wo we went directly to travel and received the same package for $400 less by using our Magic Kingdom Card. I probably will not use a travel agent again.

The one thing to keep in mind about AAA Travel services is that they tack on charges for any kind of travel you book with them. If you go into any of their offices you will see the information on their computers (The AAA office near me has them all posted)
I took notice as I am a travel agent and was curious on what their fees were.

Another thing is that AAA like a lot of travel companies have their own packages and that is what they try to sell first, which are not necessarly the best prices.

I had a friend who worked for AAA travel and they were told they HAD to push the packages and only offer other things if the customer really pushed them on it. The agents of AAA (in NJ anyway) have a certain amount they have to sell per quarter.

Hi RosieRosie,
To get a government rate at the Dolphin, you can check out DreamsRES here. It is an online booking system and you can see if the government rates are available for your dates.
Good luck!
