Using 5-day tix early - what happens to FP?

We have 5-day tickets as part of a "magical" deal, but just changed the flight to come in early on our check-in day. Was hoping to add one day to our tickets, but I just read this in Cheshire's ticket sticky:
If you have a special Convention ticket which includes one WPF&M visit, you may upgrade it only to add days (to a maximum of eight days on the ticket). If you do add days, and have not used the single water park entry, you will lose this entitlement.

So, since we are planning to use our waterparks ticket one day, would hate to lose the entitlement. I currently have our FastPasses already reserved for all five of our park days (8/31-9/4), so was wondering what would happen if we went ahead and activated our tickets a day early on 8/30? Would we lose our last day of FastPasses?

If you activate one day early, and use the ticket to go into a theme park on that day -AND- upgrade by adding another theme park day, and do so on that first day, you won't lose your pre-booked FPs on your last day.
You can upgrade the ticket as soon as you activate it.
It does not need to be "used at a park" before upgrading.

I don't know anything about you losing your Water Park entitlement if you add a theme park day.

BTW, you are taking info from a posted source that is over 10 years old.

thank you, Robo!

Why not just contact your TA and add the day before you leave? That way you don't have to stop at guest relations or worry about losing the water park bonus.

We would have to add a day to all of our tickets, but only two of us are going down early and will be able to take advantage of the extra day. Might just do it anyhow just to feel reassured once we get there. Good idea, thanks!

If these are convention tickets, you can upgrade the two tickets prior to going and leave the rest at 5 days. Email or call your TA and let him/her know your situation. Just tell them you want to upgrade two tix to 6 days. Ticket components with group bookings have more flexibility than traditional MYW packages.

I use this TA company. You can have a different number of ticket entitlements in one package. Just contact them and they will add it for you. I just did it myself. It may require Disney IT to get involved to fix MDE but they will help you with it.
