Using 2012 Points After Clearing

Question for you experienced DVCers. I am waiting on my ROFR for a BLT contract. It was submitted on 6/8 so I have a ways to go. My UY is Feb and I would get 150 pts that expire 2/2014 that I want to use.

I am gonna try and take a vacation in either early Nov, early Dec, or sometime in Jan non marathon. I'm worried that availability will be low as my points probably won't be available for at least 5-6 weeks or more.

Will I be able to find anything nice in late July early August for those times? I know you can't predict availability, but my home would be BLT and we are willing to stay most places.

We JUST bought. Like, at the end of May this year. I was able to book exactly what we wanted...this July 4 nights at akl in a 1 bedroom standard view followed by one night in a studio at beach club villas.

If you are flexible in dates you will be able to get something. I would think early Dec will be the most difficult of the 3 - it may not be an option. Once you book your dates you can also wait list if it is not exactly what you want.

I had trip planned to the world with a hotel room booked when my DVC points were loaded a week before my trip. I was able to cancel my hotel without fees and book a solid 4 night stay in a few different types or rooms at OKW and SSR. This was a late January trip this year. Five to six months out you should have your pick of a few other resorts as well. Good luck!

Thanks for the info! I think my dates are pretty flexible and I'm not too picky on rooms, although I would like a 1-2 bedroom villa. Maybe I can snag an AKV room, but I'm not expecting too much....and I still have to clear ROFR!
