Yes ... I am getting old and forgetting things .... just don't tell my wife (whatever her name is).

Can I buy a ten day pass for a 9 day trip, but use 2 of my days in the same day, to access two parks (thus avoiding hopper costs)?

Ted

Unfortunately not. You have to buy the hopper if you want to visit more than one park in a single day.

And since a 9d plus 1d non-PH is about $10 (or C$17) more than a 10d PH ticket, you might as well get the hoppers and see where you can take advantage of it during the rest of the stay.

Say you show up at your planned park and it is a zoo for whatever reason (well except AK which technically is always a zoo); hop over to another park.

Your favorite ride is unexpectedly down for maintenance? Make a special trip later in the week just to ride that one ride. PH can provide a fair bit of flexibility as an insurance clause for not much more dough.

bankr63, I like your thinking, but my Scottish heritage demands that I be even more frugal than ever! We are at BWV so with parks that close (and restaurants all through them) it probably makes sense. Might cut into my pool beer time, but the family may appreciate it.

The other thing to consider, specifically when staying at BWV is the ability to take the monorail from MK to EP and walk through the park on the way back to the room. We made this error one time years ago when we didn't buy PH. We ended up at the front of EP and there was no bus to BWV because you can walk to the park or take a boat to the back entrance. Ended up taking a bus to SSR, boat to DtD and bus back to BWV !!

Even though I stayed there before, I must have had a park hopper. Thanks for this ... I didn't think of this! I guess, I'd better get a hopper ....

A PH gives you lots more flexibility for dining too. Spend the day at one park, head back to BWV and then maybe decide at the last minute to slip into Epcot for dinner, snacks, or a drink before they close for the night.
