I have to buy a large can of coffee for DS to use in Kindergarten. Believe it or not, we have been trying all summer to find someone who drinks coffee and could give us an empty can. No luck! So now I have to buy a can of coffee and dump the coffee grounds. Does anyone know what I can use them for? Can I use them in the garden? Chew on a few during those middle of the night feedings for DD? ;) Any advice? Thanks!!

I think it does great things when added to mulch! where do you live, I could use the coffee!! :smooth:

use it in the garden as nutrient additive

put it in a bowl or sock for odor absorption. I've put it in shoes... takes out the stinky feet/shoes odor

Does it have to be a coffee can? Or just a can the size of a large coffee can? There are lots of other things that come in big cans like that in the isles...maybe tomatoes?

Isabella's school music teachers are collecting the rather new Folger's plastic "cans" to use as drums for the little kids. My hubby didn't even have to change brands!:) He drinks a LOT of Folgers.

Teachers drink loads of coffee. Take it into the school in a zip lock,
they can keep it in the freezer and use it like that.

I'm a coffee drinker and never have a coffee can. Buy them boxed in air sealed packs of something similar. I think plants like used coffee grounds.

try a cople of coffee shops and see if they have any available.

Have your DS be Hobo for Halloween and use coffee grounds for his beard. ;)

Check with local churches to see if they buy their coffee in cans. I'm sure they'd gladly give you an empty can if they have one.

Or if there is a recycling facility in your town where people unload their recycling into dumpters, go see if there are any coffee cans in the "cans" dumpster.

If you don't find one and you have to buy your own can, donating the coffee to your school or church sounds like a great idea.

Well I kind of just skimmed the answers on this thread so maybe I'm misunderstanding. . . but. .

If you ask me, stealing a coffe can from a church-going hobo no matter how stinky his feet are is just plain wrong!!

Sorry, but it had to be said. .

;)

Just sent the whole can in and let the teacher figure out what to "do" with it. ;)
