Used Toyota Camry- any thoughts?

We have owned many Toyota products but not the camry and I must say they are very reliable. All three that we have had all had over 100,000 miles with little to no repairs! currently have a carolla and it has 127,000 and still gets 36 mpg and its 9 years old. Hope to keep it at least another 4 years.

Oh and our other two toyota cars were used cars but the current one was brand new.

Although not exactly a Toyota, I have an 07 Pontiac Vibe which is the same as the Matrix and they both have the Corolla motor in them, I have over 100,00 on mine and have had no problem what so ever. Knock on wood. I do keep the oil changed regularly and all other recommended maintenance. Prior I had a PT Cruiser with the GT, problem after problem. Even had the extended warranty and it was till costing my the deductible, for a problem that should of been fixed when it occurred within 6 months of buying the car, never again will I own a Chrysler product. That just soured me on that.

I have a 2010 Camry. On the whole I do like the car. There are few little petty things that I don't like.

1) I have a gray metallic painted car. While it looks beautiful, it does get easily scratched. Some are low surface scratches and some are deeper.

2) The hubcaps! I had the original 4 hubcaps stolen- I got them replaced. Then the replacement caps fell off. I talked to the dealers and mechanics and they said the hubcaps just tend to fall off since they are lightweight.

The car runs well. My son learned how to drive on the car and my daughter will learn how to drive on it this summer.

I had 2 camrys and loved them both. They were company cars so I had to turn them in after 2 years or I would still be driving them!

I drive a 1986 camry! It was my grandmothers who unfortunately passed when I was ten. She would have loved to see me drive it, she paid for it by writing out a check for the full amount at the dealership! I love my camry so much and I am often stopped by people asking if it really is an '86 camry! It has about 155,000 miles on it and I have very few problems with it. All of the problems I have had with it have been fixable practically overnight!

I lovedddd my Camry! I had a 2011 and had it for a year and a half... I just traded it last weekend for a Toyota Sienna ( van).. I loved it and was sad to get rid of it, the only reason I did, was I needed more room. You will be happy with your decision! We are def a Toyota family!

Definitely true. Actually the last car I had had a clean carfax but I had wrecked it, just never filed a claim and had a family friend fix it.

So true . If the car was never repaired using a dealership or had an insurance claim it won't show up on Carfax. We did a $125,000. ( yup! That is One hundred twenty five Thousand ) collision repair on a Rolls Royce that the customer paid for out of pocket. It kept a clean Carfax.

You are going from Fords to Toyotas. Wow that is like staying in Red Roof Inns and then discovering the Hilton. ;)

A friend is a tech at a Toyota dealership. Has been for 35 years. Says Toyotas are good cars, but he wouldn't have a job if they were as reliable as everyone says. :rotfl: But, he adds, Toyota does seem to step up more often and fix factory boo boos for free than other auto makers. And yes, he owns Toyotas, but he has never bought one with less than 200,000 miles on it.

My brother had a Camry for like 15 yrs. I couldn't believe how long it lasted. He said the thing wouldn't die. Finally, they replaced it with a Corolla. They've probably had that around 8 yrs.
I love my '06 Sienna & I really LOVED my '90 Supra til I was pregnant with ds16. I always swore a baby would love to ride around with the top off :lmao: but a few months into my pregnancy my back was aching so bad & those low seats were just making it worse. sigh...:sad1: I knew I needed a 4-door.
