Used online checkin yesterday...loved it!

We checked in to BCV yesterday afternoon after having used online checkin last week.

It was great!!!:cool1:

When I walked toward the front door of the BC, a young man approached me and asked if I was *me.* He surprised me...pleasantly. He escorted me to the front desk and introduced me to Lizet who promptly checked me in.

It was wonderful. And our villa was ready!!!!!:cool1:

Randy, it was so simple. Yes, our packet was ready to go with the room number already assigned. She asked if I wanted to use the cc# I had used to checkin online and I gave her my id.... I think!

We are DVC and I received the usual Welcome Home packet. I didn't get the Portable Perks but I'm not sure if that was an oversight.:confused3

I think I had made my ususal two requests and one was granted. I very seldom get both. I think a small # of villas meet both and it could be that all were aready occupied. At any rate we're very happy campers.

Best of all, our villa was ready.:cool1:
 

Sounds great. We are at the BCV early May. When did you do the online check in compared to actually arriving? 24 hrs/48 hrs.

I am so glad that everything worked out well for you. We are not DVC owners but we do get to do the online check-in starting in 4 days :cool1: . My DH is excited about trying this out.

On the DVC website under view your vacations (or smething like that(, a box appeared last week next to our reservation...it said online checkin. I clicked on it and then it was a matter of putting in a CC#, etc.. It was brand new last week but if I recall correctly, it will be available 10 days out.

Unless we need a 2 BR accessible room in which case there is no choice of view, we request a particular floor and Epcot side. Epcot side is roughly half of the villas and the floor roughly 20% since there are 5 floors....so about a 10% chance if all villas were available on checkin day. It's not exactly10% as the first and 5th floors have fewer rooms but still, I think it's along shot to get both.

I saw the young man who greeted me yesterday and noticed his nametag....Brett. Seriously, it was like being greeted by a concierge....very nice.

Glad you had a great experience. Do you mind telling us what time you checked in? Also, was there a wait in the regular check-in line?

We checked in close to 2 pm I think. I think there was a short line for regular checkin but didn't really pay attention. I was too thrilled.:goodvibes

I would be, too! We're heading down this May - having never stayed at BCV so I'm trying to get as much info as I can about the resort rooms, etc.

Did you give your ETA when you did the online process? I'm wondering how he knew it was you.:confused3
 
When you said that the young man asked if you were *you*, did he actually ask your name?? How on earth did he know who you were?? Is the online check-in that specific that maybe you were the only one actually arriving at that particular time for check-in? Wow... now that's service!:lmao:

How is the pool refurb going? We are staying at BCV in 38 days for the first time. Glad to hear online check in went well. I am looking forward to using it.
 
I remember doing a double-take in October when I was greeted by name at Beach Club, too. I think there was a link from Magical Express check in alerting the cast members at the resort that you're arriving. That's the only thing I could think made any sense.

Glad to see the BCV online check in went smoothly for you, and that you received that personalized treatment, too. :)
 
sounds awesome. wish we could do it! My DH had to drop out last week and just my college daughter and I are going down for spring break this saturday. When I tried online checkin yesterday, I noticed that they still hadn't changed our party size from 3 to 2. Knowing what I have heard about IT, I thought I should phone member services before trying to check in. My CM phoned tech support, and they are having some "issues" over there when there have been changes to the ressie after booking. They hope to have the glitch resolved soon. Anyway, I was advised not to attempt online checkin because the system wouldn't be able to handle not having a third name to put in.:sad1: Oh well. Maybe next time at BLT for my birthday in September. All you folks that can do it, enjoy! Glad to know it works.
