Used my Disney Vacation Account today

I went online today and purchased our Disney tickets and used my DVA and it was easy peasy. No problems what so ever.

I had to apply for a refund out of my account several months ago. I had no problems either. Personally, I like the vacation account. Out of sight, out of mind. Glad it worked well for you.

Very happy to hear this. We opened our account three weeks ago and will be purchasing our tickets as soon as we reach the 120 day point. It will make paying for our rooms much easier. Our travel agent was super helpful and didn't complain when we had to send her 64 gift card numbers last year. That only covered half the cost of our rooms but we couldn't bear putting her through that again for the balance so we just put it on the credit card.

I have never heard of this. I'm glad I heard about it now, I'm just starting to plan a savings and planning strategy for our Honeymoon trip to DW in 2016. This will surely come in handy.

That's great! I personally really like the idea. I had one, and then had to get a refund, it was a fairly smooth process and quick once I found the right person to talk to. I think once the kinks get ironed out, it will be a really good tool to save for Disney trips (for me, cruises).

Ya I have to get the rest out, around $88. I used a combination of around 15 differnt gift cards and my debit card to deposit money, so I am wondering just how they will refund it.

Here's what it says in the user agreement:

" Disney may make refunds to the original payment source(s) used to fund your Account. For instance, if the payments into your Account were made with a credit card, Disney may make the refund by a credit to that same credit card. If a payment into your Account was made with a Disney Gift Card, Disney may make the refund of that payment back to such Disney Gift Card. If you request a partial refund or you use part of the value in your Account and then request a refund of the remaining balance, the refund may be applied to the original payment source(s) in accordance with the following priorities:

a. first the refund may be applied to any payments made by Automated Clearing House ("ACH") withdrawal (if ACH payments were made from more than one bank account, then the refund may be applied starting with the last payment and continuing to the next earlier payments until the refund is fully made or all such payments are refunded),

b. next, any unapplied portion of the refund may be applied to any payments made by debit or credit card (if payments were made from more than one debit or credit card, then the refund may be applied starting with the last payment and continuing to the next earlier payments until the refund is fully made or all such payments are refunded),

c. lastly, any unapplied portion of the refund may be applied to any payments made by Disney Gift Card (if payments were made from more than one Disney Gift Card, then the refund may be applied starting with the last payment and continuing to the next earlier payments until the refund is fully made).

Disney also reserves the right to make refunds by check, regardless of the source(s) of funds in your Account, and to give you a refund of the entire remaining balance when you request a partial refund."

I already put the deposit down for our cruise with the debit card attached to my checking account. I wanted to know if I could use the vacation account to pay the $200 package deposit for the room/ticket portion of our vacation next year? I just found out about this a few days ago and it seems like a good deal.
