Used In Room Baby Sitters Anyone?

I have 1 year old twin girls and I am thinking about hiring one of the companies in the area to baby sit at our resport room for an evening.

Has anyone done this in the past? If yes - would you do it again? Did you have a good experience?

I would ask to see the background check report-- don't take their word that they actually run them. We deal with agencies around here who get in a bind and fudge on the CPR requirements. I'd demand to see that too!

I'd aslo hire two people. I don't trust anyone alone with my kids. Knowing there is another adult for someone to be accountable to can't hurt.

Do you realize how expensive that would be? If I was that worried/paranoid I would just not go out. I have never used them, but many people on here and in real life use them everyday and without problems or there would be bad publicity and they would be out of business.

I went to a conference this summer at Coronado Springs. The conference was from 7-1pm each day but husband could not go and I really wanted to take the kids so I used Kids Nite Out. I was really nervous about leaving them with a stranger. We never use a sitter at home and if we do normally next door neighbor or Grandma.

I worried for nothing! Kids Nite Out was great. We had 3 different sitters throughout the week. Two days we had Lindsey. She was a college student and great. The kids loved her. She brough a bag or crayons and crafts and Candy Land. Plus I said ok to take them around CSR so she took them to play at the playground and in the arcade. They were sad to see her leave each day. We had Whitney one day. She was lots of fun too and played with them. One day we had an older lady. I felt they were very safe with her but she did not bring toys like the service said they would and did not see to be into playing as much. They said she was fine but no upset she left. But again, I felt they were cared for and safe with her at all times.

The service was prompt each morning. I would use them again.

I just got back from a stay and used kids nite out for my 2 year old. My 2 year old is very very verbal and told me she had a fun time, played with toys, went for a walk (we had okayed this) and had dinner. I was impressed with their professionalism. We'd use them again.

NO doubt it would be expensive! If I couldn't afford it, I'd stay home too!

But it's reactionary and completely unneccessary.

The sitting services are quite good and you'll hear VERY few complaints on these boards about sitters from either Fairy Godmothers or Kids Nite Out.

To the OP, we use FG all the time. Great service!

We have used Fairy Godmothers twice and had an awesome experience with it both times. If DD were not getting so much older, I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Not for me. I am reacting to things I hear about or see in my line of work and it is necessary for me. To say it is completely unneccesary baffles me. However, I am glad you've had a good experience using them. You put your faith in them and they came through. I would be surprised and sad to hear otherwise. However, it's more faith than I have when it comes to the most precious things in my life. JMHP

However, if someone was unsure about using someone they don't know to come alone into a hotel room with their children, I still think it is reasonable to see a CPR certification, background check and ask for 2 people.

We used Fairy Godmothers twice and had good experiences. Kids seemed happy and in good care. We did have a little mix up about what resort we were in - the Godmother went to the wrong place and was late getting to us.
