Use Year's- How to decide

First a HUGE Thank you to all of you who have been responding to my posts. I am gaining from your experience and I really really appreciate it!

Okay, so how to decide on a use year..... We have a few potential windows of travel; late January, Spring Break, early August, mid october and after christmas. So....with all of those options how do we choose a UY.

My thought was a March or April?

How about an August UY? Your 100% banking window would be Aug 1 - Mar 31. You must cancel a trip at least 31 days prior to check-in in order to bank the points so if you had a trip planned for some time in April, you would have to cancel it in March in order to bank the points, and you would still be in your 100% banking window. In other words, an August UY covers you for trip cancellations for travel dates of Aug 1 - Apr 30, provided you cancel at least 31 days prior to check in.

Just so you know: If you cancel between 30 days and 1 day prior to check in, your points go into "holding" and cannot be banked. They can only be used to make a reservation 60 days or less in advance. If you cancel on/after your check-in date, you forfeit all of the points.
