Use year?

We're planning on purchasing vacation club on our upcoming trip this summer. I heard the mention of the term use year and from what I understand that is the month each year when you're issued your new points, right?

Now if we plan to travel in Jan or Feb each year is is OK that our use year will be August? Or should we purchase at another time?

Use year isn't necessarily based on when you buy. I'm not sure how they decide when to offer which use year, but you can always request a specific use year. If you plan on going in the Winter alot, a November or February Use Year will be more appropriate for you as it's at the start of your use year and you have plenty of time to bank points or deal with cancelled ressies before you start hitting deadlines.
