Use Year?

I called today to check on an add on for my mother. She is really interestedin AKV but our guide said that they are not selling March Use Year. Is there any way that we could get an add on with a different use year if we were persistent about it or will we have to wait until there is something available in our current use year?

Current use year to add on or new separate contract with 160 points minimum.

The only way to get a different use year direct from Disney is to add on the minimum of a new contract. That is currently 160 points.

Also, if you get a different use year month, it also becomes a totally new membership number. You would have two separate memberships, and each would have to be managed totally independently from each other.

I agree. Call your guide back and ask to be on a waitlist for the March use year. As the construction / remodeling progresses and more units are finished and ready for occupancy, they will have March use year points to sell. You may not have all that long to wait. DVC is just as anxious as you are to have inventory to sell to willing customers!

We are on the waitlist for March use year as of today!!! Our guide said he can't guarantee it, but he figures we'll get off the waitlist by July, maybe even sooner! So, give your guide a call!

loribell - Did they say whether they were already out of March Use Year points for the current building, and that they had to wait until more buildings were ready before they could sell March Use Year again? Because I bought 2 50 point AKV contracts March 7, and they are both March Use Year - which matches my other DVC contracts. Is that because I bought when the first few buildings were being offered, or did they make mine March Use Year before they were technically ready to sell them? Just curious...

It looks as if they are selling them as they start refurbing the existing rooms. Maybe a some in each use year. Maybe they will declare some more soon. I will call again and ask what her thoughts are on how long it might take.
