Use year questions

Hi,
I have a couple of use year questions:
- It seems like it would make sense to have a use year that is 11 months from my most likely travel time of year. My most likely time is a less busy time (mid May or September) but I would like the option of going at Christmas and I'd imagine that that time goes quickly. So, is January the best use year month or am I misunderstanding the concept?
-Is use year based on time of purchase and if this is true will BCV most likely be sold out by January?
-Last one, how much is the price per point likely to go up this year?

I'm itching to buy but I don't want to regret the timing later.

Thanks-
Donna

Use Year has nothing to do with when you can make a reservation. It is merely when your points are renewed each year and is the basis for banking deadlines.

It is usually best to have a Use Year that starts just before you will usually travel- in case of a cancellation.

If you will normally travel in Dec- a Dec Use Year would work well. That way, if you had to cancel- you would still have plenty of time to reuse or bank those points.

If you have a Feb Use Year and had to cancel a December trip - the points would have to be used by Jan 31 if you were unable to bank them.

DVC costs have typically been announced prior to being raised and there has been no announcement of any increase yet. There has been speculation haere that the rate will likely increase once SSR begins presales.

BCV is unlikely to sell out before summer, but you'll never know until it happens. Currently, all Use Years are still available.

Enjoy!
