Use year question

I'm trying to make sure I understand this right...I am looking at purchasing a contract resale which has a June use year and for some reason has 147 points that were banked from 2016 and 10 points coming June 2017. The first time we would use this contract would be April 2018. That trip would be within the 2017 use year for a June contract and therefore we could use all 157 points correct?

Yes, that is correct.

Yep, June 1, 2017 - May 31, 2018 is the 2017 UY.

It's always risky to travel at the end of your UY. If you have to cancel that April 2018 stay, all banked pts would still expire on May 31, 2018 if not used to complete a stay by that date. If you cancel after your banking window closes on Jan 31, even the current pts cannot be banked forward.
