Use Year/Bank/Borrow Question

My use year is April. I want to take a cruise in June 2004. In order to pay with points for my family of 5, I will need what I will have remaining after my trip this year, all of my 2004 points, plus I will need to borrow a few points from 2005. How soon can I make a res for a Disney Cruise. i.e., how soon will I have access to those points I need to borrow from 2005.

You can make cruise reservations on points 11 months out. Based on that, you can make your reservations on the appropriate date in July 2003. You will have to bank your remaining 2003 points before that date so that they will be available for use in 2004. I don't think you can actually make the reservation until you officially bank the points into 2004 (unless you want to borrow more points than you really need).

I think you can borrow the 2005 points at any time while making a 2004 reservation, even though they technically aren't available at the moment you make the arrangements.
