I know that last year they let you use TS credits for CS meals. I read that they are not allowing this this year. Has anyone had any experience with this or know if this is true or not? Thanks is advance.

There was a thread on this before -

I KNOW you used to be able to do that and someone told me I was totally wrong. So, I called Disney and they said no. TS is only for TS. I think it is silly. My DH and DS couldn't make it there the same day we did, so we had 6extra TS's. We ended up using one for a CS and the rest for snacks! According to Disney, you can't do that anymore. :sad2:

Here's the relevant portion of the FAQ:
Can I use TS credits for CS meals?
No. During the 2006 free dining promotion, Disney did extend an offer to use TS credits for CS meals (plus two snacks and a lanyard), but that offer has expired. Prior to that offer, some (but not all) hotel front desks allowed some (but not all) guests to convert some of their remaining TS credits in the CS credits, with the understanding that once converted they cannot be converted back. However, that is not an official part of the Dining Plan, and may or may not be successful in getting them to do that for you.
This is one of those common questions which are answered in the FAQ. If you are considering using the Dining Plan, you probably want to read through the FAQ since you'll probably want to know a lot of the information in it. Here's the link:

If having extra TS credits is a concern consider upgrading to some 2TS meals (Signature Dining restaurants or dinner shows). Also keep in mind Beaches and Cream is a TS restaurant that has more of a CS menu, no ADRs required. Unless something changes late in your trip or ADRs weren't made, I cannot imagine being stuck w/TS credits. Hope you planning works out.

We are doing this and will be a credit short as a result...lol
Actually, I think we'll just pay OOP for one of the 2TS meals (probably just an entree) and our problem will be solved.

I called the Disney Dining Reservation # (407) 939-3463 last week and asked if I could use TS for CS or CS for snack credits. I was concerned that if we missed some reservation times or if the kids just weren't hungry during the time I had planned a TS meal (months in advance) could I use the TS credits to just get some CS food wherever then. The CM told me yes you can. I said I had been reading alot where this was not allowed. She put me on hold and called the "Dining section" of "Guest Services" and asked them and got back on and said that yes it is allowed.

The folks on the telephone were mistaken. While sometimes you can negotiate such use, it is not part of the Dining Plan, and guests should not count on being able to do so.

I think sometimes the left arm doesn't know what the right arm is doing.

We used TS for CS many times in 2005 when it "wasn't allowed".

We also got the large chocolate milk everyday for lunch until the last day when the lady told us only the small carton is given on the dining plan. I told her she was wrong and that I had been getting it everyday until then. She was very stern and said "I am only following the rules, it's never been given with the dining plan."

But now it's two years later, and in that time Disney has made refinements/changes to the plan and its features and enforcements.

I believe that's technically correct; some places give the large milks, but the terms of the plan only require small ones. Same as some places give large drinks, but the terms of the plan only require medium.

FWIW, I've routinely been given the large chocolate milk as a kid's meal beverage, regardless of whether it was OOP or DDP. At one place, I saw the first CM put a small milk on the tray, only to have a second CM replace it with a large milk. I've also seen CMs searching for small milks, finding none, and giving us a large milk. IMHO the kid's meal is only supposed to come with a small milk, and I'd have been happy with a small milk, but the large milk didn't go to waste.

SOMETIMES????? :lmao:

Not only does the left arm not know, but none of the rest of the body knows MOST of the time!

Seriously to Lisa 10 -- CM's do the best they can, but they are often mistaken. In addition, an individual restaurant or manager may have a different view from what a CM tells you. So don't bank on anything you hear on the phone. Most of the time they're in the ballpark, but don't bet the farm on what you are told.
