Use of Projections

I really think that HEA will forge a new era in nighttime entertainment. I know Disney has been using projections for years, but this show just felt different. I think we finally saw the projections used to their full potential.

This got me thinking... how far can Disney go with the projections?

I know they're pretty limited to nighttime use and i'm sure they're expensive to run...but I immediately thought: what if they used them to "decorate" the castle during important dates/parties/holidays?

Remember the cake fiasco in '96 for the 25th year anniversary? One of the problems was that many WDW fans felt it was an eyesore. To add to this, Disney faced a lot of legal problems because those who got married that year paid for photos in front of the castle and were instead treated to a giant cake.

Using projections at nighttime to decorate the castle could really add to the flexibility. Imagine instead of the icicle lights on the castle when Elsa "freezes" it during Christmas if they projected snow onto the castle or actually turned it into an ice palace? Imagine during Halloween if the castle looked like a haunted mansion or house? With the big 50th year anny coming up, they can really push it. This would allow for the castle to maintain its iconic appeal during the daytime, but take on the spirit of the celebration at nighttime. It'd be similar to the lights on the Empire State Building.

Just an idea. Interested in hearing what you all have to say!
