Use of concierge facilities after checkout?

On our last day we will not leave for the airport until at least a couple of hours after checkout time. Will we be booted from the property or can we linger in the concierge area until time for the airport? I didn't think it would be a problem until I thought about the need for a key to be admitted to the concierge building and that it would likely be useless after we checkout.

Can anyone provide any info about the Poly's policy on this type of situation? Thanks!

We did express check out at The Poly and used the lounge after we were checked out until Mears came to get us. No one said anything. We did go right from our room to the lounge though so we did not have any issues with getting into the building.

I wonder at what point they invalidate your room passes? Did you wait with your luggage in the concierge lounge? We were thinking more about getting up early and getting everything packed and stored, going back to the MK, then coming back to the lounge an hour or so before we were to be picked up. Hmmm, probably wouldn't hurt to ask the official Poly policy I guess.

You can use the concierge lounge until midnight on the day of checkout, at least that is what we were told last Nov. Our key worked to get into the building even after we checked out. You should not have any problems.

I originally didn't forsee a problem, but as someone who can worry about nothing I managed to go there unnecessarily once again!

Thanks for the info!

We were able to use our until midnight the day we checked out. We had no worries at all. We went to MK and then came back and ate a little at Concierge for lack of anything else to do.

I am assuming there is some where you can store your luggage when you check out if you have a later flight?

We are staying Poly conc. in January and our return flight is not until 5:30 pm. I was planning on us hitting the highlights of MK or whatever else we could squeeze in before heading to airport. Didn't even think about conc. lounge as option, but that sure will be great to have access!! :)

We stayed at Poly concierge this past August. We asked if we could have a late check-out as we were moving to another Disney resort for the rest of our vacation. They let us stay until 1 pm. We then hung around the pool, the kids rented water mice, and we had lunch at Captain Cook's. We didn't even think of going back into the concierge lounge, but now that I'm reading other posts maybe we could have. I just felt uncomfortable using it after we left the resort. Probably the best thing to do is ask.

Have a great vacation!!

They have Bell Services which will hold your luggage until you ask for it. They give you a tag that has your name, the number of bags and a number for them or something like that. It's great because then you don't have to worry about it. Another good thing is if there is something you forgot to take out like a book or something, they will get it for you so you don't have to worry.

You simply call bell services to store your unnecessary luggage and enjoy your day in whatever fashion you wish. You won't have access to your room with your key, but you are able to come and go from the common areas of the concierge building until you leave the resort OR midnight, whichever comes first! ;)

You are also able to store a small bag or two at the concierge desks in the event you want to swim, freshen up prior to your flight, etc. The third floor restroom is available to you to change for the pool, freshen up, etc.

The concierge service is available to you the entire day. You are able to avail yourselves of the lounge area for snacks, sodas, evening, and/or dessert service as well.

While we don't usually fly out at the end of our final day (we transfer to the Hyatt at the airport), we do make full use of our final day by hitting parks, swimming, hanging in the lounge, dining at EPCOT, etc. The concierge staff is just as cordial to us the last day as they are on the first. Further, we inquired about all of this on our first stay--while late check-outs are not encouraged and during peak or regular season, rarely available--the staff has never discouraged us from feeling at home until we leave WDW property.

Just an FYI, this also applied to all of the concierge services we've sampled. Have a great trip!
